Skin Testing Preparation
Prior to your skin test, you will need to hold antihistamine medications which may interfere with the test. Discontinue antihistamines, decongestants, cough syrups, eye-drops and over-the-counter nasal spray beginning 1 week prior to test. You may receive different instructions from your doctor and should follow those. Benadryl may be safely taken up until 48 hours prior to skin test.
Do Not discontinue asthma medication!
